The Government is keen to ensure children in schools have access to technology to aid learning and improve learning outcomes. ICT is becoming more integrated in the 21st century way of life, creating new opportunities for people on daily basis. Applying ICT to empower education and people is a necessity in Tanzania, especially when the country is heading to a science based, technology society. Mainstreaming ICT in schools is key to accomplish this vision. Few schools in the country have computer labs and trained teachers to offer ICT curriculum.
Therefore, the Foundation integrated Information and Communication Technology in schools that demonstrated readiness in applying computer studies in their curriculum. A total of 6 schools in Dar-es-Salaam and Moshi-Kilimanjaro to have been imparted with ICT knowledge and equipment. Kambangwa, Mtakuja, Makumbusho, Kinyerezi, Shimbwe and Weruweru secondary schools are the receipt of ICT education through our partnership with Samsung to improve learning and increase student digital literacy in the schools.
