Vodacom Tanzania Foundation - Connecting for Good
The Vodacom Foundation helps women and girls across the country improve their health, access better education and create new enterprises. Working with local NGOs and partners, the Vodacom Foundation has supported over 120 projects to date investing over Tshs 14 bn to improve the lives of those in Tanzania.
From joining the fight to eradicate obstetric fistula to empowering women in rural areas to become financially independent for the first time, from setting up the first mobile malaria health community to educating young girls about sanitary hygiene, the Vodacom Foundation is committed to make a difference.
Amongst our projects, we are particularly proud of having helped over 2,000 women suffering from obstetric fistula seek treatment in partnership with CCBRT; building 34 classrooms across the country and equipping them with 1,035 desks, providing and connecting over 300 computers in secondary schools and helping 7,931 women with zero interest loans to support their enterprise projects.
Using mobile technology, the Foundation creates new solutions to long standing problems.
Vodacom’s employees are an integral part of what we do and are encouraged to give both their time and material to support causes that are close to them.
