1. What is Wakala Songesha?

Wakala Songesha is the first and most unique agent overdraft service for Vodacom M-Pesa agents, a service that enables M-Pesa agents to maximize their profits by being able to complete your transactions i.e. Vodacom customer Cash-In transactions, when you do not have enough float.

2. Who are the target?

This service is for Vodacom M-Pesa agents only.

3. How does the agent join Wakala songesha service??

To Join; Dial *150*00# > Select "Wakala Songesha" > select "To Proceed" After that you have agreed to the Terms and Conditions to join Wakala songesha service. You will then receive a confirmation message that you have successful registered accompanied with your Current Songesha Limit..

4. How can I get the Songesha amount to complete a transaction?

Dial *150*00# > Select "Wakala Songesha" > Select "Deposit" > Enter Phone Number> Set Amount> Enter Assistant ID > Enter PIN. Then you will receive a message that you do not have enough float, so use the Wakala songesha service to complete the transaction.

5. How much will the agent be charged for using this service?

The cost of this service is 50% of the commission received by the agent to complete the transaction. This cost is charged only once for each service. If Agent uses this service to complete 3 different transactions, they will be charged differently for each transaction.

6. How will the agent return the Songesha amount?

The Agent will repay the amount once he/she float his/her Account.

7. When should the agent repay the amount spent on completing the Cash-In transaction to the customer?

The agent shall repay the amount due before 12 noon (the following day afternoon).

8. What will happen if the agent does not float his/her account within the relevant period?

The agent will be prevented from using Wakala Songesha service until he or she returns the amount due. The agent will also be charged late fees charges for every passing day which is 0.1 percent of his daily outstanding amount until he/she float his/her account, or the amount will be offset from his commission account for the month.

    Dial “*150*00#” > Select “Wakala Songesha” > “Songesha Limit” > “Enter PIN”. You will be able to see the limit of the Wakala Songesha that you can borrow.

    The service will enables M-Pesa agents to maximize their profits by completing customer cash-in transactions, even when they do not have enough float.     This service gives the agent the amount of money he or she needs to complete the transaction so no account will be required.

    M-Pesa agents will contact Vodacom through the same channels they use i.e. customer service, Vodacom shops or through Vodacom regional managers.

    Application Fees.

    Daily Service Fee: (0.1% of the outstanding balance) After you use Wakala songesha service be sure to repay your debt within one day (Until 12 noon the next day). For each day passes without repaying the amount you owe, you will be charged 0.1% of your outstanding amount. This rate will be charged daily for 30 days, after that the amount will be offset with your commission account.
